University of Pittsburgh requirements for Philosophy applicants

The range of philosophy programs is huge - for example, University provides several joint programs for students wishing to study Philosophy with some other discipline such as IT, Mathematics or others. University of Pittsburgh is perfect choice for students interested in getting a degree in Philosophy.

How to apply

The application process for international students depends on which degree level you are planning to get, but some rules are similar for all international students.

Firstly, applicants to University of Pittsburgh need to pay a $300 deposit. After submitting the deposit, applicants will be enrolled into the immigration process. The University supports its applicants with visa and immigration issues. Applicants should also meet the language proficiency requirements. If English is not their native language, they will have to take a language proficiency exam when they arrive on campus.  

Applicants should also complete their housing contract, if they wish to stay in on-campus housing. Accommodation will be provided for all study period. All information about housing you can find on the official website of the University of Pittsburgh.

Applicants for MA programs will also need to take Logics exam and do at least two units of history. They also need to satisfy the Area Requirement in the field of metaphysics and/or epistemology.

Please note that University of Pittsburgh does not provide scholarships for international students, but you are allowed to find a foundation which will provide you financial support during your studies.
