Masters Degree in Humanities

Masters Degree in Humanities is the ideal solution for those students who want to broaden their knowledge in different fields. Multidisciplinary format demands both critical thinking skills and creativity. Due to broad knowledge and skills, students who received the Masters Degree in Humanities usually have a successful career on high-level positions.

It’s often possible to study different disciplines during your undergraduate degree: students may choose between various majors, choose a liberal arts degree or multidisciplinary program, such as Politics, Philosophy and Economics or History and Philosophy. Master’s degree is typically more focused and students are usually welcome to choose a narrower field of study (such as Political Philosophy or War History).

The most obvious career path for those who have a graduate degree in Humanities is to start an academic career: to get a PhD degree and then to apply for a professor position in the university. However, that’s obviously not only option: while some Humanities programs (such as Philosophy or Philology) may seem slightly unrelated to real life, students learn various useful skills, which help to find a job in many industries. In some countries (such as the USA) stand-alone Master’s degrees in Humanities are very rare: those who want to continue education after Bachelor’s degree usually start a PhD programs which integrate several years of studying and writing a thesis.

Numerous courses provide students enormous possibilities of cultural perception, what is really important in the labor market. The educational programs include liberal arts and social sciences. Research skills and understanding of social norms also is a part of the masters program. Students will learn religion, history, foreign languages, psychology, culture, anthropology, political science, literature, linguistics, human rights, history... Deep understanding of many subjects allows you write on various topics and hold discussions. Programs trains for any careers, which are based on communication and organization acquirements. Moreover, during the studying you will hone your logic, self-discipline, language, and speech.

Other Humanities programs are less abstract: for instance, Master’s in Education graduates have clearer career perspectives, e.g. teaching or education management. Graduate programs in Humanities usually welcome students from different background with various undergraduate degrees, including Social Sciences and even Natural Sciences or Mathematics. It’s more important to demonstrate your general academic abilities as well as the motivation to study on the program of your choice.
