The course concept links theory to real world business. The high level curriculum offers solid grounding in the institutional fundamentals of the European economic integration and an introduction to international business law.

The foundation classes are followed by core courses which provide a comprehensive overview on contract law, international arbitration, competition law and intellectual property law. Specialized courses in the 2nd semester allows student to immerse in areas such as consumer protection, social policy, e-commerce, international carriage of goods, securities, business related crimes or M&A regulations.

The European and International Business Law LL.M is designed to prepare an international group of legal practitioners for the global challenges of the 21st century. The program combines state-of-the-art knowledge and skills with an international orientation. It will help to develop the participants' analytical as well as interpersonal skills in areas such as logical reasoning, argumentation and dispute settlement.

The goal of the program is to shape internationally renowned legal experts who are ready to take challenges in global scale and confident to handle complex issues in international regulatory environment with high level of confidence.

Led by a notable group of instructors, experts in their respective fields of law, ELTE Faculty of Law provides the support and resources necessary for students to excel not only in the classroom but more importantly in their chosen career paths.

The program offers a comprehensive scope of courses allowing students to enjoy multiple approaches to business law.

Flexibility is the other hallmark of the program. The courses take place in every 2nd week on Friday and Saturday), allowing professionals to adjust their schedule to the curriculum.

Hungarian Scholarship Board Office:

The Hungarian Scholarship Board (HSB) Office (Balassi Institute, Hungary) offers scholarships to foreign students and lecturers in higher education institutions as well as research fellows who intend to gain further professional experience in Hungarian higher education institutions or research institutes.

Visegrad Scholarship Program (VSP)

The International Visegrad Fund offers Masters and Post-Masters schol­ar­ships awarded to selected schol­ars for peri­ods of 1 or 2 semes­ters (with the excep­tion of Masters schol­ar­ships within the In-Coming scheme where 1 to 4-semester schol­ar­ships can be awarded). Given the annual bud­get of 1,190,800, the Fund will award over 300 semes­ters in total in the aca­d­e­mic year.

Opportunities for students from the USA

Study Abroad Organizations American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) provides study abroad programs at a handful of international destinations, including Hungary. Here students may study in courses taught in English and across an interdisciplinary spectrum. The AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships may provide rather generous funds for those who demonstrate both academic motivation and financial need.

Private Funding

The International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) is an internationally recognized organization whose main mission is providing various levels and types of support for scholars and professionals working in the field of international and foreign policy. IREX encourages fresh networks of multicultural exchange and cutting edge communications that make a better world. Besides a handful of research grants and fellowships for study in post-Soviet Eurasian countries, IREX also provides Short-Term Travel Fellowships.

College Scholarships:

The University of Minnesota has forged a valuable exchange partnership with a number of Eastern European or Eurasian countries, including Hungary, through the Alexander Dubcek Fund. The program provides various levels of monetary assistance to both UMN students as well as those from partner countries. Students from UMN or Hungary may qualify for up to $2,000 in scholarship money for a term abroad or, for Hungarian students, at UMN.Michigan State University's "Democratization and Economic Transition in Eastern Europe" engages political science and international studies majors in a summer study abroad program that spans Hungary, Turkey and Romania all closely related in geographic location as well as in social and economic climates. While the program is open to students from outside institutions only MSU students may qualify for MSU scholarships:

Randall Smith/M. Richard Zinman Award for Study Abroad goes to outstanding majors in the James Madison College (sponsor of this program) who will benefit from one of the college's study abroad programs, such as the program in Hungary. Awards are $1,000.

MSU Credit Union Scholarships are the most widely awarded and generous. Up to $1,000 for a summer program is available for those who demonstrate balance of academic merit and financial need. Forest Akers Scholarships are given to those study abroad participants who may not be able to afford the program without the necessary funds. Awards are $500.

Eötvös Loránd University meets the designation criteria determined by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology, British Columbia. Students from British Columbia may be eligible for funding through StudentAid BC.

New Brunswick:

Eötvös Loránd University meets the designation criteria determined by the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training, and Labour, New Brunswick. Students from New Brunswick may be eligible for funding through the Brunswick Student Financial Assistance Program.
