The School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota is a nationally ranked Top 10 institution. Our school offers a superior array of advanced degrees and is home to numerous world-renowned research and training centers. Our faculty members are among the leading experts in public health today. The MS includes two tracks:
  • Plan A: Outcomes Research, a two-year program that focuses on developing the skills necessary for participating in research environments.
  • Plan B: Health Intelligence & Analytics, a one-year program (available online and in-person) that provides you the skills and knowledge to analyze and answer health services related questions from practitioners and researchers.
The University of Minnesota School of Public Health requires applicants to submit the following within the Sophas application:Statement of Purpose and Objectives describing the reasons for your interest in public health, your intended program of study, the University of Minnesota SPH and your career goals.Resume or C.V.Official transcripts from each U.S. college or university attended must be sent from that institution directly to SOPHAS. This includes a University of Minnesota transcript (if applicable). Do not send transcripts to the University of Minnesota.Official GRE scores3 letters of recommendation from academic and/or professional references. Letters should be provided in Sophas. Do not have letters of recommendation sent to the University of Minnesota. English Language Requirements TOEFL paper-based test score : 600 TOEFL iBT® test: 90

The School of Public Health makes financial awards to incoming students each fall semester. Some recipients are selected by a school-wide scholarship committee, while others are selected by the admissions committees in each major. The SPH offers these scholarships (up to four awards of $1,000 each) to assist current students with their international field experience expenses.
