The Bachelor's programme Industrial Engineering at the European Campus Rottal-Inn is for those who are interested in a career in the field of energy and resource efficiency. A sound technical and economic knowledge base will be provided. Those who are interested in renewable energies and related engineering as well as maintenance, repair and operation in connection with economic viability and project management will be very satisfied in the Bachelor of Industrial Engineering programme. A further important component of the programme is the development of language and intercultural competencies, including the specialisation in a particular cultural and economic region.
All of these particular aspects will be the focus of the Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on "Maintenance - Repair - Operation" (MRO) at the European Campus Rottal-Inn in Pfarrkirchen.
The Bachelor's programme has a standard period of study of seven semesters, with six academic semesters and one practical semester. The sixth semester is designated as the practical semester. The Bachelor's thesis can be written in German or in English.
For all courses, ECTS credit points (European Credit Transfer System) are awarded.
After having successfully completed the programme and the Bachelor's thesis, students will be awarded with the academic degree Bachelor of Engineering (BEng).

Course objectives

A particular emphasis will be on the acquisition of fundamental knowledge in the areas of maintenance and repair as well as operation engineering and management. Some of the topics covered include the following: sustainability, renewable energies, process and operation technology, IT in plant and equipment engineering (Industry / Energy 4.0), leadership, investment and financing, business and operational processes, logistics, maintenance, repair strategies, operation strategies and planning. A further important component of the programme is the development of language and intercultural competencies, including the specialisation in a particular cultural and economic region.
Graduates of the Industrial Engineering programme will possess the best qualifications and know-how to work in a national and international context in fields such as facility planning and engineering, service and maintenance engineering, maintenance, repair and operation management as well as in controlling for technical fields and in project management.

Language requirements

International applicants do not have to provide proof of German knowledge.
However, the German level A2 has to be reached by the end of the programme.

International applicants must provide proof of having achieved a minimum of level B2 in English at the beginning of the first semester: TOEFL iBT score 64, TOEIC at least 75% of maximum points, Cambridge Certificate FCE, CAE or CPE.
TOEIC can be completed at our university.

German applicants must provide proof of having achieved a minimum of level B2 in English by the end of the second semester.

Enrolment fees are 52 EUR per semester.

Food and accommodation amount to approx. 650 EUR per month.
