The Master Programme of Hotelschool The Hague educates the next generation of hospitality leaders and focuses on hospitality concept innovation, business development and change.

The programme, based in Amsterdam, starts in September 2015 and runs for 13 months. In this time you will enhance your knowledge and leadership competencies, providing you with the tools and perspectives necessary to forge your own strategy and implementation scenarios for your future career.

On completion of the programme, Hotelschool The Hague will award you the diploma and degree title ‘Master in Hospitality Management’ (M.HM).

This highly international hospitality management programme is open to graduates with a hospitality related or economics/business management Bachelor’s degree.

Small classes with a maximum of 25 students guarantee personal contact with the faculty and interactive, stimulating discussions. The Master Hospitality programme creates and sustains an action oriented learning environment of creative, analytical and conceptual thinking where men and women from different origins learn together.

The Master of International Hospitality Management is a 13 month full-time programme, structured around hospitality concepts innovation, business development and change.

The international hospitality management programme is divided into 5 blocks, each of 10 weeks. Each block addresses a number of courses which are based on inspirational, professional assignments and are supported by guest lectures, field trips and workshops. A study trip abroad also forms part of the programme. A Master’s thesis is the final project of this programme.

Academic record The programme is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field. We also welcome candidates with a non-hospitality related economics or business Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. We are specifically looking for candidates from diverse cultural backgrounds and a proven potential in hospitality: people who ‘go the extra mile’ and have a genuine ambition, drive and talent to make the difference through hospitality innovation and concept development. Prospective candidates have the ability to handle graduate-level study; a GMAT test or GRE test is required.English language levelSince the course language is English, all candidates need to have a good command of English reading, writing and speaking. A TOEFL or IELTS test is required for all non-native speakers or to those who have worked or studied for less than 2 years in a professional English-speaking environment (international education, international working experience).Motivation & commitmentCandidates are able to convincingly motivate their passion and interest in hospitality and their personal purpose for choosing this Master in Hospitality Management. He should also demonstrate the ability and willingness to make a positive contribution to the class and the programme.Leadership potential Candidates can convincingly demonstrate their hospitality leadership potential by expressing ideas, examples of extracurricular activities and cultural sensitivity. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6.5 TOEFL iBT® test: 100 Work Experience At least 1 year(s) of work experience is required. Candidates are required to have work experience. Candidates with limited work experience (less than one year), will only be considered if they demonstrate academic excellence, maturity and have a strong leadership potential. Official internships are considered as work experience.

International scholarships

In the Netherlands, international scholarships are not granted by universities but only through nationals programs of the NUFFIC

National scholarship by Stichting Zabawas

The Board of Stichting Zabawas offers a scholarship of €25.000 for 1 Dutch master student who:

  • is holding a Bachelor degree;
  • has passed the selection procedure of the Master of International Hospitality Management programme of Hotelschool The Hague;
  • is able to motivate a lack of financial resources to join the master’s programme.

The programme is accredited by NVAO (Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organisation).
