The Forensic DNA & Serology concentration is provided by the College of Pharmacy. It is structured to provide the student with a strong foundation in serology, blood spatter interpretation, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics and the theory of DNA analysis. You can start with a course or two, then continue on to earn the full master's degree later. The master's program is designed to meet the guidelines set out by the FBI National Standards education requirements for DNA Technical Leaders and Supervisors. This program may be of interest to those currently working or seeking employment in the following areas:

  • Law enforcement agencies
  • Military services
  • Medical professions
  • Crime laboratories
  • High school and College science teachers

Upon completion of the program, your diploma will state Master of Science in Pharmacy issued by the Graduate School of the University of Florida. Your transcripts will read Master of Science in Pharmacy, graduation date, major Pharmaceutical Sciences, concentration Forensic DNA and Serology.

We require only the Verbal and Quantitative sections of the GRE to be taken and reported. Please see score requirements in the chart below.Once you've taken the GRE, the scores take six weeks to get to and process within the Office of Admissions. Please take this into account when you schedule your GRE. We recommend taking the exam no later than the term application deadline you want to apply for.If you have earned a graduate or professional degree from an accredited U.S. institution, you are exempt from this requirement and do not need to submit GRE scores. If you have a graduate or professional degree from an international institution, you must take and submit GRE scores. There is no exception.. If you are earning a graduate level degree from an accredited U.S. institution but will not have it completed by the application deadline for the term you applied for, you are not exempt from the GRE.
