The consecutive study programme for the Master's degree in Strategic and International Management is designed for those who have already obtained a first degree in business studies.
The programme is based on practice orientation, a scientific approach and internationality and provides both in form and in content an internationally recognised study programme, which prepares the students for the demands of globalised business. Furthermore, participants have the additional option of completing a semester abroad and even have the possibility of obtaining a double degree.

Students are taught in three module clusters:
1. Finance, Controlling, Taxation, Accounting
2. International Management
3. Leadership and Human Resource Development

Module cluster 1 "Finance, Controlling, Taxation, Accounting" includes the following modules:
  • Cooperation with Financial Services
  • Domestic and International Accounting
  • Corporate Management Instruments
  • Taxation and Accounting

Module cluster 2 "International Management" includes the following modules:
  • Strategic Programmes
  • Strategic Planning
  • IT Strategies/International Project Management
  • Strategic Evaluation of Countries

Module cluster 3 "Leadership and Human Resource Development" includes the following modules:
  • Change Management
  • International Leadership
  • Intercultural Behaviour
  • Strategic Human Resources Management & Business Ethics
  • Economic Theory and Research Methodology

During the first two semesters, students study in Germany; in the third semester they can choose from two in-depth Project Seminars:
  • Taxation & Accounting, or
  • Finance
Alternatively, students can choose to study an aspect of business administration management functions at a foreign university.

Educational organisation

The Master's programme Strategic and International Management comprises three theoretical semesters and ends with the Master's thesis.
For all courses, ECTS credit points (European Credit Transfer System) are awarded.
After having successfully completed the programme and the Master's thesis, students will be awarded the academic degree Master of Arts (MA). The MA degree formally entitles students to enter PhD/Dr programmes.
The Master's programme is fully accredited by FIBAA (an international accreditation agency specialising in accrediting degree programmes from the fields of business administration and management: http://www.fibaa.org).

Study abroad unit(s)

Students have the opportunity to spend one semester abroad at a partner university (Erasmus exchange) or even achieve a double degree either in Austria, Brazil, France or the Czech Republic.

Written and oral exams in accordance with the guidelines, Master's thesis

Course objectives

The aim of this course is to enable graduates of the programme to quickly find responsible and leading positions in business organisations and to carry out their tasks in a professional, competent manner.
Students are trained in classic fields of business administration in order to competently monitor and lead their organisations. At the same time, they are trained to further develop skills in areas needed to enable them to establish contact with customers, staff, colleagues, and distributors and to develop and maintain positive relationships particularly against the background of rapidly-changing businesses, markets, and economies. The ability to function on a professional level beyond national borders and in other cultures is the third important requirement for successful entrepreneurship of the future.

Applicants must provide proof of their German and English skills:
German: certificate C1 level German
The TestDaF can be completed at our university.
English: certificate C1 level or TOEIC or TOEFL (at least 75% of the maximum score)

Enrolment fees

Enrolment fees are approx. 50 EUR per semester.
