This programme aims to prepare you for a career in business development and management by equipping you with a broad, integrated understanding of key aspects of business and the changing environment in which businesses operate. It focuses on applied research and management models which can be used to improve business performance, and you will learn to analyse quantifiable information in order to make decisions.

As part of your studies you will also have the opportunity to work with business professionals and/or local communities on live projects. This will help you to gain valuable experience and learn to critique business theory in practice.

Employability

You will connect with employers through our dedicated Business School Employability Team who focus on developing your employment skills. They also provide you with CV support and will invite you to employment fairs to network with employers and recruiters from industries. The team was shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

We are actively improving job prospects for graduates through the support we provide. According to survey findings, 93 per cent of 2014/15 Greenwich graduates looking for work were already in jobs or further study by January 2016.

Experience abroad 

You can participate in the Erasmus+ international exchange programme. This will help improve your language skills and give you experience of living and working in another country. The Erasmus+ Scheme provides a grant towards the cost of studying abroad for a year. 

Extracurricular activities

Our Greenwich Employability Passport scheme recognises and rewards your participation in additional activities such as part-time work, volunteering, student societies or industry guest lectures.

Business start-up

You will be encouraged to enter the university's Enterprise Challenge which rewards student entrepreneurship and innovation. Previous winners received a prize of £5,000 for their idea of developing an enterprise and study hub.

This degree is currently being restructured in collaboration with employers, professional bodies and student feedback. This ensures we develop degrees that are aligned with latest industry trends and gives you the opportunity for subject specialisms. (This is standard UK practice across institutions).

Year 1

Requirements

The admissions process involves a comprehensive review of your academic background, test scores, application essay, recommendations, and activities both in school and in your community.
All candidates for undergraduate admission must submit the following:

  • Application for Admission to Undergraduate Study
  • Personal statement/essay
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Official transcripts of all college work, including non-credit course work, if any, and for transfer students.
  • International students should consult the International Students section.

English Language Requirement

Students are required to have a good standard of English before starting any program. For students whose native language is not English, NYC requires a minimum of TOEFL score of 197 (computer based test), IELTS 6.0, or a recognized equivalent.

All non-native English speakers who do not possess any of the above-mentioned certificates, will be required to take an English language placement test, which is offered at NYC free of charge.

Students that have attained Cambridge Proficiency or TOEFL score of 197 or higher are exempt from the placement test and may enroll full-time.

No work experience is required.
