HHL´s Full-time MBA program focuses on leadership and international experience, applying an integrated management approach that not only combines different functional management areas but also offers a good mixture of (soft) management skills and (hard) management knowledge. The goal behind this approach is to prepare MBA participants best for the challenges that today´s globally attuned business leaders have to face.

All courses are taught by highly qualified resident and international faculty who not only sharpen students´ analytical but also their interpersonal skills in areas such as communication, team management, project management and negotiation. Moreover, case studies, consulting projects and high-profile guest speakers ensure strong input from practice. The MBA Program is especially appropriate for talented and ambitious participants seeking managerial positions within multinational corporations.

The MBA Program is structured into three parts

Core Modules: The compulsory core modules provide you with basic management concepts and functions. These functional courses students from different professional and academic backgrounds can find a common language and acquire state-of-the-art management knowledge.

Elective Modules: The elective modules are designed to reflect the management challenges that business leaders of today are facing. This cross-functional approach ensures that you acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for management tasks in business and society. The integrated approach of the courses means that you will gain expertise in your personal fields of interest and learn to select and combine a variety of management tools. The module International Experience fosters a personal experience by offering an exchange term at one of our 100 partner universities around the globe or a company internship.

Master Thesis: The master thesis is a cornerstone of our academic program. Investigating a topic deriving from your personal managerial experience on the basis of the input from the study modules, you will write a scholarly paper which synthesizes theory and practice.

Flexible program duration: Our flexible full-time MBA takes from 12 to 18 months when you choose to do a semester abroad and write your Master thesis separately afterwards.

Three compulsory core modules introduce students to basic management concepts and functions and account for 54 ECTS credit points intotal. These three core modules are:
o Business Fundamentals: This module provides students with basic general management knowledge, thus laying the foundation for advanced management modules. The module contains the following courses: Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Production Management, Strategic Management, and Management of Organizations. In total, it accounts for 24 ECTS credit points.
o Leadership Skills: This module provides students with the general management skills that are important for today´s business leaders. It contains the following courses: Problem Solving & Communication, Negotiation, Leadership Experience, Social Networking, and Managerial Decision Making. In total, the module accounts for 15 ECTS credit points.
o International Challenges: This module serves as an introduction to the international aspects of management. It contains the following courses: International Finance, International Accounting, International Management, International Marketing, and Managing Global Corporations. In total, the module accounts for 15 ECTS credit points.

Elective modules

o Managing Investors: This module provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills in order to successfully manage an important stakeholder group of a company: investors. The module contains the following courses: Financial Analysis, Corporate Valuation, Applied Corporate Finance, and Corporate Governance & Value-based Management.
o Managing Customers, Employees and Processes: This cross-functional module provides participants with important skills and knowledge for managing the most relevant processes and functions within a company. The module containsthe following courses: Human Resource Management, IT-based Logistics, Quantitative Techniques, and Market Research.
o Managing New Ventures and Growth: This module focuses on concepts and skills for managing new ventures and growth within and outside of companies. The module contains the following courses: Entrepreneurship, Corporate Creativity, Business Plan Development, and Innovation Management.
o Managing Society: As society plays an increasingly important role in management issues for all kinds of companies, this module explores concepts and skills that are necessary in order to manage this stakeholder group. The module contains the following courses: Managing Public Relations, Corporate Responsibility in a Globalized World, International Trade, and Management Practice in Central & Eastern Europe.
o Managing Projects: This module focuses on a management challenge that has rapidly gained importance over the past years: the management of projects. Project management as well as team leadership skills are addressed and applied in a field project. The module contains the following courses: Project Management, Soft Skills Seminar, and the Field Project
o International Experience: This sixth elective module offers students an international experience. They can either undertake an exchange term at one of HHL´s more than 100 partner universities or choose to put their newly acquired management knowledge and skills into practice by doing an internship in a German or international company.

HHL offers scholarships for outstanding candidates interested in studying in the full-time MBA program:

The HHL Young Leader Scholarship focuses on prospective students, especially international students, who bring their leadership potential to HHL and plan to continue their career in a German company after graduation. The scholarship will provide the successful candidates with a tuition waiver for the the full-time MBA Program worth up to EUR 15,000.

The HHL Future Entrepreneur Scholarship focuses on prospective full-time MBA students who bring their entrepreneurial potential to HHL and who seek to start their own business after graduating from HHL or who have already started it. The scholarship will provide the successful candidates with a tuition waiver worth up to EUR 15,000.

In addition to that, HHL has established several links to private sponsors, companies and governmental organizations. These close relationships will help students to finance their stay in Germany by providing them with living cost stipends.
