The proposed program is comparable to similar programs at renowned universities in both the EU and the USA. This program comprises basic courses taught in most graduate programs in Europe and the USA in the fields of macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, quantitative methods and finance. While designing the program structure, we drew on the experience of the most advanced programs in the USA (MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton) and Europe (the University of Pompeu Fabra and the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain, the University of Toulouse in France, the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands.) The course composition has been tailored to suit the specific needs of the Croatian market, taking into account the suggestions, experiences, interests and needs of our students and employers in business and academic society. The main partners who have shown interest in the initiation of a new graduate program are the University of Ljubljana, the University of Trieste, ORT Brause College in Israel, the PhD program at CERGE in the Czech Republic, the PhD program of the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain, and New South Wales University in Australia. Within Croatia itself, our partners would stem from the public and private sectors alike (Croatian National Bank, PBZ, RBA, ZABA). Employees of these institutions are already lecturing at ZSEM, and we wish to extend this cooperation to graduate courses as well. Our partners ensure that our students will receive practical knowledge deemed essential for participating in the modern labor market. Furthermore, given their reputation and experience in similar academic ventures, they guarantee the quality of our proposed program.
