The Master of Architecture in Collective Housing, MCH, is a postgraduate professional program of advanced architecture designpresented by Universidad Politécnica of Madrid. After seven editions it is rated as one of the best architecture masters programs by architects and experts.

MCH has always committed to the highest level of excellence combining teachers of international prestige and a thorough participant selection process in order to make the best out of this course.

Advanced architecture design

The masters degree is entirely taught in English. It consists of 600 hours (60 ECTS) from January to July (seven months), Monday through Friday. During this time, it is strongly recommended a full-time dedication in order to develop and complete practical work. At the end of the master the students must present a degrees final work.

The program is emminently practical, aimed at job placement, and is structured in Workshops and Specialties, plus a final master work:

Program: Aims and objectives
High Qualification

Collective Housing MArch Degree: 600 teaching hours, 60 ECTS.
Participants will develop their design skills through an intensive series of workshops and complete their theoretical knowledge in specialty seminars.

Program Structure

All workshops and specialties are mandatory in order to receive the MCH Diploma.

Specialties

Each specialty seminar is coordinated by a technical director who relies on a group of teachers and specialists from all over the world.

Specialty seminars last 35 teaching hours aproximately, except for Sustainability & Energy Concepts and International Activity & Real Estate/Management, which last twice the time. In any case, the approach is basically practical and complementary information is given digitally or on paper.

Workshops

The concepts acquired throughout the course are developed in a series of workshops led by relevant architects specialized in collective housing.

Masters project

Participants will have to deliver a masters project, which will have a portfolio format and will include a selection of the projects produced during the year.

Guided tours and trips

There are planned trips in Madrid and abroad, where buildings and housing-related institutions and universities will be visited accompanied by architects and/or experts.

AdmissionsRegistration period 2013Applications accepted until positions are filled.Architects from all nations willing to increase their knowledge and research field in collective housing and high-density cities, and able to demonstrate good skills developing projects in the time given, are invited to enroll our selection process.The course is intended for qualified architects who have completed their bachelor´s degree or equal level certificate. The official language of the program is English.Admission process * To get started in this process, participants have to send the Application Form via internet or print the PDF document and send it by mail or fax. * Afterwards, participants have to send a résumé or CV and a portfolio with a sample of their best academic and professional projects, and research. The portfolio must be sent digitally for on-screen visualization. Technical and graphic skills, group work and English level will be considered. * This process may require a personal interview by a member of the Academic Committee.
