About the university

Since its foundation in 1218, the University of Salamanca has been the protagonist of determining advances in history. From their classrooms teachers, students and researchers have been contributed ideas and discoveries that have helped to build a better society, to lead the development of Spain and of the world and to maintain, since the XVIth century, some links with Latin America that today are stronger than ever. But the University of Salamanca is mostly aimed at the present and the future: it has the most modern facilities to keep on offering the best and the most advanced ways of studying and research, and a fully equipped campus for students to enjoy university life. Among the 30,000 students from every continent who each year pass through its classrooms are those who will project a society that advances improving the prospects of people and contributing to the progress of humanity surpassing the frontiers of knowledge.
