UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia is a private university founded in 1996 with a clear mission: to provide students with the knowledge and skills to serve society, to contribute to the further expansion of human knowledge through research and development, and to participate in the Evangelical mission of the Catholic Church in the areas of education and culture.

It is located in Murcia - the capital city of the southeastern region of Spain. The Mediterranean weather joins the natural beauties of the beaches of Costa Cálida with the mountains and fields of the Huerta de Europa. As a midsize region (1.5 million inhabitants), Murcia is full of artistic and social dynamics with especially affordable living costs, a safe environment and modern infrastructure.

UCAM’s teaching method is based on personalized attention with a reduced number of students per class and a personal tutor assigned to each student. UCAM also offers a modern system of distance teaching. It is strongly linked to the business world through study plans responsive to market exigencies, obligatory internships in public and private institutions and enterprises as part of every undergraduate and master's degree, as well as research programs in collaboration with large regional, national and multinational companies.UCAM has around 200 renowned international strategic partners, among which are several leading colleges and universities around the world, such as UC Berkeley, Stanford, NTU, NUS or Università degli Studi di Bologna. With these partners, UCAM has established students’, staff’ and professors’ exchange programs, joint degrees and other kinds of academic collaborations.

UCAM is known as the University of Sports. It is the only European university with a professional basketball team in the first national league (ACB League Spain). Furthermore, UCAM competes on a professional level with 20 comparable teams. In the Spanish University Sports Competitions, UCAM won 46 medals, being hailed 2012 Champion competing in 21 disciplines with more than 2000 college athletes. UCAM’s students were awarded about 100 medals in the Olympic Games in Athens, Beijing and London. Moreover, UCAM functions as the educational body of the Spanish LFP (Professional Football League).

  • Language School

Language School offers a multitude of intensive and regular language courses throughout the academic year and summer period (July-September). Students have the opportunity to learn or build up their knowledge of one of the following exciting languages: Spanish, English, Italian, French, German, Portuguese and Chinese. As for our Spanish language classes, UCAM offers a wide range of courses targeted at different student profiles (Erasmus, Interchange, pre-master, UCAM or external). These courses are open to anybody interested in learning languages and their cultural context, no matter if they are UCAM students or not. However, interested parties must be 18 years of age or older.

The main target of UCAM's School of Languages is to provide students with the contents necessary to advance one stipulated skill level per course or year, depending on the number of hours per course. All our courses are set up in such as way that they facilitate teaching and learning activities according to the European Common Framework Criteria regarding languages (A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2).

Certified teachers specialized in their respective mother tongue direct UCAM's language courses, including different activities that make learning both fun and interesting. The classes' timeschedules differ from course to course, depending on their level and duration. Students are required to attend at least 70% of their classes in order to be eligible for taking the final exam. Upon the successful completion of a course, students receive an official certificate.

Under normal circumstances, all classes have a limited number of students (usually between 8 and 15) in order enhance learning outcomes and team work activities.

UCAM was founded in 1996, by José Luis Mendoza Pérez, a lay Catholic, with the permission of Bishop Javier Azagra Labiano of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cartagena.

As a Catholic institution committed to the Church, UCAM does more than provide top quality education. The transmission of values is an important pillar of the university and makes the difference in the future of our students. They will, not only become great professionals, but they will also develop strong personal ethics and empathy. UCAM’s formation is integral, comprehensive and provides opportunities for human development through volunteering activities, congresses, seminars, research projects and religious services.

With a strong international vocation, UCAM students have the opportunity to develop a global perspective thanks to the joint programs, collaborations, and exchange agreements with more than 150 universities around the world, including UC Berkeley, Stanford, Università di Bologna, National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and PUC - Rio Grande do Sul. UCAM centers in Cuba, Jakarta, Singapore, and Brussels work together to further develop the university’s international strategy.

For students who have completed secondary education in a country outside the European Union (UE), Switzerland, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein or China the application procedure is as the following steps suggests. Anytime during this process, you can ask for help or clarify any doubt by phone or e-mail +34 968 278 786 or admissions@ucam.edu.

Step 1. University Admission – Validation of studies

Applicants must have their high school studies or its equivalent officially accredited or validated according to the following cases.

Students with high school diplomas from countries outside the European Union (and from outside those with EU bilateral agreements) must validate (or “homologate”) this Diploma by the Ministry of Education of Spain. To carry out this process, candidates should apply to the Ministry of Education and follow the indicated procedure to accredit their pre-university studies. Please note that this process is done outside UCAM and through governmental institutions, so it would be a good idea to start it a couple of months before the admission request.  Students can continue the admission process to the University at the same time as their studies are being evaluated for official accreditation.

  • High School diploma** from an EU state or those countries which are co-signatories. Consult the list of eligible countries here. Students must validate this Diploma with the ‘Credencial’ issued by UNED.
  • International Baccalaureate / International GCSE**. Students must validate this Diploma with the ‘Credencial’ issued by UNED.
  • Students with previous University studies can transfer university credits for admission to UCAM, with a minimum of 30 ECTS.
  • Students with high level of vocational training (Formación Profesional). Students must validate this Diploma by the Ministry of Education of Spain.

Please note that certain courses in the University may have further admission requirements, applicants will be informed of those requirements during the interview stage of admission.

UCAM staff will be glad to assist and assess your situation so please do not hesitate on contacting the university.

Step 2. Application Form

Once you have validated your studies or have started the process to do so, you are ready to start the 2rd step. From now on the process becomes much more simple and flexible because you be guided directly by UCAM’s service and staff, who are now totally responsible for making it easy for you.

From April to October, you can enter here to create your personal account (without any commitment) and start the Admission request process. You will have to scan and attach some documents, but the system is really simple and intuitive:
