The list of main branches of anthropology includes: Cultural anthropology, Social anthropology, Sociocultural anthropology, Biological anthropology, Linguistic anthropology, some institutions of USA also count Archaeology as a branch of Anthropology Studies.

Admission requirements

There aren’t any specific requirements for applicants for undergraduate Anthropology programs in most universities. Sometimes high grades in Biology and Maths or high GPA results are required. Applicants should also show interest in research activities.

As most Anthropology programs you can find on our website are taught in English, applicants should speak English fluently and be able to prove it with TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent language certificate. The required minimum results depend on the chosen country and institution.

Applicants for foreign universities should also meet specific country requirements.

Course structure

Usually undergraduate Anthropology study programs last from three to four years, and graduate study programs - from one to two years. Some institutions offer joint Bachelor and Master study program, which provides an opportunity to complete a Masters degree in five years or faster.

Usually study programs in Anthropology include a summer internship or field work.

Anthropology study programs are called the most scientific programs amongst Humanities, so graduates holding an Anthropology degree can start a career in a huge diversity of scientific and nonscientific areas. Usually graduates holding a Bachelors or Masters degree decide to continue their education and start research and teaching activity.
