Biotechnology

Biotechnology is a discipline which studies the possibilities of using living organisms as well as their systems or products of their vital functions to solve technological problems, and the  possibility of creating and developing living organisms with the properties by genetic engineering.

Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary area, which combines genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology and cell biology, as well as chemical and information technologies and robotics.

Biotechnology includes the following disciplines:

Bionics is a  science which is dedicated to the principles of organization, properties, functions and structures of living nature in technical devices and systems, shortly said, ir studies living forms in nature and their industrial analogues.

Bioremediation is a complex of methods for cleaning water, soils and the atmosphere with the help of living organisms such as fish, plants,  or plankton.

Cloning  is a natural production of several genetically identical organisms by asexual (including vegetative) reproduction.

Bioinformatics is a science that uses and develops programs for deciphering the structure of a protein, as well as mathematical methods of computer analysis in comparative genomics.

Biopharmacology is a section of pharmacology that studies the physiological effects produced by biological and biotechnological substances.
