Gerda Henkel Fellowships, Bucharest, Romania

The New Europe College invites young researchers interested in humanities to apply for the Gerda Henkel Fellowship. This fellowship provides a monthly stipend of 750€, accommodation and working place, travel and visa expenses covering, research field trip abroad and research expenses covering.

Researchers can stay in New Europe College for either one academic year or for one term. Besides working on their project, researchers will participate in weekly seminars and in other scientific events run by New Europe College.

Requirements

To apply for Gerda Henkel Fellowship, candidates should met following requirements:

  1. Application is only opened for researchers from Afghanistan, Belarus, China (only Tibet and Xinjiang Autonomous Regions), Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan;

  2. Candidates should have a PhD degree in one of these areas: particular archaeology, art history, historical Islamic studies, history, history of law, history of science, prehistory or early history;

  3. Fluency in English is required.

Researchers below the age of 45 and researchers who were have not been awarded from a Fellowship at NEC are given priority. Participation in international projects and publications are also a big plus.
