Poetry Competition and Festival in Great Britain

Applications are open for the annual Ledbury Poetry Competition. There are three age categories in the competition: children (up to 11 years old), youth (11-17 years old) and adults (18 years old and older).All competition winners will be invited to the annual Ledbury Poetry Festival in 2018. Foreign winners will be able to read their poem at the festival using Skype.

Prizes

Adult category:

1st place - 1000 pounds and free course in the nationalWriting Center Wales

2nd place - £ 500

3rd place - £ 250

Junior:

1st place - 100 pounds

2nd place - 50 pounds

3place - 25 pounds

Children's category

1st place - certificate for books with a face value of 25 pounds;

2nd place - a certificate for books with a par value of 15 pounds;

3rd place - certificate for books with a face value of 10 pounds.

How to apply?

All authors can submit an unlimited number of poems to the competition.The length of the poems should not exceed 40 lines. Please note that only poetry in English is accepted. The entrance fee for the adult age category is 5 pounds for the first poem and 3.5 pounds for each subsequent one, for children and young people the first poem can be sent free of charge, all others - 1.5 pounds.

Applications for the competition can be submitted both online and by mail.
