Study Medicine in Africa

A three-month intensive course in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene is offered to doctors wishing to work in Africa. The program focuses on the study of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, malaria and others.Upon completion of the course, students will be able to assess the condition of patients in an African setting, as well as acquire the practical skills necessary to work in Africa. In addition, students will be able to pursue their own clinical research.

In order to take the course, you must have a higher medical education, as well as be fluent in English.

The first half of the course will take place at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College in Moshi, Tanzania, and the second half at Makerere University in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Please note that the program does not provide accommodation on campuses - students will live in one of the hostels in Moshi and Kampala.

The cost of the course in 2017 is £ 7,500. Doctors from developing countries are awarded a scholarship covering the cost of tuition and hostel accommodation. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis.

How to apply

In order to apply for participation in the program, you must fill out the form at link. You must attach a 500-800 essay on the topic “The current health crisis in Africa” to the questionnaire. The deadline for filing is January 15, 2017. The results will be announced in February-March 2017.
