The 2017 Universitas 21 Health Sciences Summer School "Global Health"

The University of Johannesburg will hold a two-week Summer School on "Global Health and the Social Determinants of Health". This is a two-week interactive program, which purpose is to show participants the relevance between the social determinants of health, the provision of medical services and health planning.
The Summer School is open to medical students as well as students of related subjects.
The amount of participation fee in the Summer School is $800. This price includes accommodation, transport in Johannesburg, catering and cultural activities.
A scholarship will be provided to four students. The amount of the scholarship is $500. If you wish to apply for the scholarship, please mention it in your application form.

Requirements

  1. Candidates should study in one of the university participating in the Universitas 21 programme. Those are: The University of Auckland, University of Birmingham, University of British Columbia, Pontificia Univerisdad Católica De Chile, University College Dublin, The University of Edinburgh, Fudan University, University of Glasgow, The University of Hong Kong, University of Johannesburg, Korea University, Lund University, University of Melbourne, Tecnológico De Monterrey, University of Nottingham, University of Queensland.
  2. Candidates should complete their first year of the Bachelors programme.
  3. They should study Health Sciences and Medicine.

How to apply

To apply for the Summer School please contact your home university. You should finish your application before March 31, 2017. The results will be announced by May 5, 2017.
