Contemporary Painting Competition from the Royal Watercolor Society (RWS)

Artists from all over the world are invited to participate in the annual competition of contemporary painting from the Royal Watercolor Society. The aim of this competition is to support artists working with water-based paints: not only with watercolors, but also with gouache, acrylic or ink. Participation in the competition is paid: to submit one work to the competition, you must pay a fee of £ 14. You can send up to six paintings to the competition, the fee must be paid for each. Students can submit up to three paintings to the competition for a flat fee of £ 5.

The winners of the competition will receive cash prizes.

Requirements for work

All paintings must be painted with watercolors, gouache, acrylic, ink or other water-based paints.

Works only on paper are accepted.

The maximum size of the painting is 100x100 cm.

The painting must be painted no earlier than four years before the competition.

Only your own painting can be submitted to the competition.

All works must be put up for sale.

How to take part

To take part, you need to upload a high-quality photo of the work to the competition website (file size - from 1 to 2 MB),then pay for participation in the competition.Students must first send a student photo to info@banksidegallery.com to receive a discount. Applications for participation must be sent by January 16, 2017. The list of works selected for participation in the exhibition will be published on the website on January 27. Next, the work must be delivered to the Bankside Gallery in London on February 26 or 27, 2017. A list of companies that deliver paintings can be found on the website.
