Environmental Economics is one of the branches of Economics, which deals with economic aspects of the relations between environment and society. It mostly includes analysis of costs and benefits related to environmental activities - the introduction of waste-free production, new waste disposal, and other actions related to the reduction of pollution of water bodies, soil, atmosphere, and the impact on global warming.
One of the most important topics in Environmental Economics is market failure. This phenomenon occurs when the market does not cope with the implementation and allocation of resources. This causes irrational use of resources and harms not only the economy, but also the environment.
