Technological Requirements

An Internet connection - You must have a regular access to a reliable internet connection, preferably from your home. Although broadband (cable/ASDL) will enhance the experience of using the online learning platform (Laureate LENS), it is still possible to study if you only have a dial-up connection. A personal email address - Although we provide you with a study email address, you will need to provide us with a secondary email address that we can use if for any reason you do not respond to email sent to your study email address. This should ideally be a webmail service (like Gmail or Yahoo!) rather than a work email address, as you may be unable to access your work email when you are away from the office. A suitable computer - Generally speaking, if you have a computer running either a Microsoft Windows or an Apple OS X operating system that is less than five years old, it will normally be fast enough and have sufficient memory to use Laureate LENS (the portal to the online classroom). In addition to having an up-to-date supported internet browser installed, you must be able to read and save Microsoft Office format documents and read Adobe Acrobat documents (also called PDFs).
