Description

Interior Design transforms ideas into experiences. It explores the spaces in which we shop, drink, eat, sleep and work, asking you to question the functional and aesthetic potential of our interior environments. This is a creative, explorative and engaging course, which asks you to push the boundaries of current design thinking to create new experiences and relationships between people, places and spaces.

The course will help prepare you for the challenging and rewarding profession of interior design or interior architecture with a range of projects set by some of the countries leading interior and architectural practices. You'll learn to bring together the creative and contextual potential of an interior space alongside the technical demands of construction detailing and specification.

You will be encouraged to develop an individual, enquiring and innovative approach to design, supported by a high quality teaching and learning environment with established industry connections. We strongly recommend you take the option of a placement year and also offer you the opportunity to go on an international study trip in Years 1 and 2.

Our graduates have won numerous design accolades with the most recent awards including the New Designers IHG Award 2012 & 2013 and the New Designers ID/Panaz Award 2013, D&AD Yellow Pencil 2012, D&AD Best in Year 2012 & 2013 and Interior Educators award for best modelled project 2013. Students have been shortlisted for RSA (Royal Society for the Arts) and Janine Stone competitions with industry sponsored live ideas projects for New River Retail and Mobile Mini (including cash prizes for individual students and teams).
