It is taught by enthusiastic academics who have a wealth of experience of retail marketing practice and is supported by industry experts through guest lectures and business developments.

The programme seeks to provide rigorous coverage of the context of retailing on the one hand, exploring Economies, Markets and Enterprise, while also examining Retail Logistics and Store Operations.

There is also an opportunity to gain practical experience through a work placement, which can be done either in the UK, or overseas, and to devise, launch and operate a retail enterprise as part of an Honours year project.

The programme will produce independent, resourceful, self-motivated graduates with the necessary entrepeneurial spirit to succeed in a wide range of employment situations. The UK retail industry is the country's third largest private sector employer, sustaining three million jobs.

Depending on the modules taken, graduates may be eligible for exemptions to join professional bodies such as the Chartered Insitute of Marketing.
