Description

On this course you will be taught the intricacies of aircraft systems, the various types of system failure that can occur and the implications of failure. You will be provided with the vital skills needed to work as an aerospace engineer working for an airline or the military.
You will work on a fantastic suite of Merlin flight simulation equipment. You will see what it is like flying a range of aircraft and understand the cockpit and instrumentation. By wearing a special helmet, you will be able to see the environment whilst you are flying, even above your head or between your feet.
If you choose this course you will benefit from:

  • Accreditation by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). Up-to-date information can be found on the Coventry University and Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) websites;
  • Staff with industrial and research experience in a variety of disciplines such as aerodynamics, flight dynamics and avionics, who bring this into their teaching;
  • Previous students have obtained jobs in the military as pilots and engineers, as systems design engineers (Marshalls of Cambridge and Rolls Royce in Derby), and engineers in various aspects of the aerospace industry with companies such as Meggitt, Goodrich, Moog, and HS Marstons;
  • International opportunities, e.g. some of our current students are working overseas at Airbus in France and Berntrandt in Germany.
