Description

This joint honours programme combines a study of the history of the visual arts with an exploration of ideas and motivation behind the creation of art in an attempt to understand meaning, significance and value.

Any study of History draws upon a similar thirst for understanding. Drawing upon a wide range of (often visual) sources undergraduate students strive to understand the significance of past events, the meaning and value attributed to them by historians and how they affect our present.

Both subjects follow a modular structure allowing students to tailor their studies to their own interests.
