Description

This programme offers a multidisciplinary approach to international studies and responds to evolving notions of our global environment providing students with the tools needed to understand and question the changes and challenges of global issues in the 21st century. Students have the opportunity to specialise in one of two pathways (Language and Culture OR Global Relations).

The flexibility of the degree structure enables students to follow their interests and deepen specialist knowledge by exploring cultural and political dynamics that influence our global world. Modern foreign languages play a particular role within the programme. Students can select up to two modern foreign languages in their first year and follow this throughout their degree. Languages are taken at one of three levels (beginners, post-GCSE or post-A level). A language option is not compulsory within the global relations endorsement but it is strongly recommended for the work-placement in the final year of study and for the possibility to go on an Erasmus exchange in the second year of study.
