You will learn to refer not only to a specific national legal system, but also consider solutions from other jurisdictions or from international law. The program will help you gain a broader knowledge and understanding of the function of law and the basic principles of the core areas of law. When you graduate, you will be awarded an LLB degree: a Bachelor of Laws

Program content

Year 1

During the first year, you will become more familiar with law, in courses such as International Legal History and Legal Philosophy . The first year also has a strong interdisciplinary component, which helps you develop the skills to collaborate with experts from other, non-legal disciplines.

Students who have a previous Bachelor's degree in a different field could be exempted from attending the first year of the program. After being selected by a committee, these students will be able to start their studies in the second year of Global Law.

Years 2 and 3

In the second and third year of the Bachelor Global Law, all major branches of law are present. Unique is the angle: the subjects are approached from a transnational and interdisciplinary angle. You will discuss the foundational principles governing each area of law: what social or economic phenomena underpin this idea? In order to add practical skills to the theoretical knowledge gained, two method courses are specifically devoted to working in and with the law. Every basic course in the core program will feature an interdisciplinary perspective, ensuring that students are constantly working with other disciplines. Finally, two context courses are included in the program, which aim to provide students with the knowledge and abilities necessary to function in large organizations; Strategy and Organization for Lawyers and Accounting and Finance for Lawyers .

All in all the Bachelor Global Law shapes you to creatively deal with legal challenges that arise in settings where multinational players come together. Together with a legal master, this program provides a solid foundation.
