Description

Sociology provides ways of making sense of a world undergoing unprecedented social change and uncertainty. This programme provides you with an understanding of core traditions and contemporary developments in sociological thinking and research. It also features a range of specialist areas such as race and ethnic identity, sociological approaches to violence, terrorism and society, new media technologies, the sociology of health, sex and gender and the sociology of science and technology.

Kent's School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research (SSPSSR) has consistently achieved the highest ratings for the quality of its teaching and research. Within the School, students are encouraged to explore diverse areas such as social theory, terrorism, globalisation, the sociology of work, drugs, street culture and popular culture.

A Year in Spain

Going abroad as part of a Kent degree is an amazing opportunity and a chance for you to develop both personally and professionally. On this programme you spend your third year at the University of Granada in Spain.

During your Year Abroad you complete course work and attend lectures and seminars (taught in Spanish) at your host university, just as you would at Kent. The marks you gain will count towards your final degree.
