The environmental sustainability of society is the major challenge facing humanity in the 21st century and an increasingly important issue for international policy, public agencies and other organisations.

In this exciting Masters programme, you are encouraged to think across different disciplines, providing the opportunity to blend scientific, socio-economic and policy perspectives for a stronger understanding of sustainability and how it can be achieved.

You will develop the critical thinking, policy analysis and interdisciplinary environmental perspective needed by organisations seeking to promote sustainable development and improve environmental performance.

The Environmental Sustainability programme provides a suitable qualification for students seeking a wide range of roles within environmental consultancy, national and local government, non-profit organisations, education or research. Your choice of course options and your dissertation project can be tailored toward your chosen career path.

Programme Structure

This interdisciplinary MSc programme consists of two semesters of taught courses. Each course consists of a balance of lectures, seminars, workshops and visits.

You will also undertake your own dissertation project of up to 20,000 words

You should have a UK 2.1 degree (or its international equivalent) in a biological, environmental or physical science, geography, social science, economics or other relevant subject. Equivalents to UK qualifications can be checked online: English Language Requirements:IELTS 7.0 (with no score lower than 6.0 in each section) TOEFL-iBT: Total 100 (with no score lower than 20 in each section).A degree from an English speaking university may be accepted in some circumstances.
