A candidate for the degree of Master by Research shall undertake a program of study and research approved by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The program shall include the presentation of a thesis and/or other work approved by the Committee, embodying the results of the candidates study and research, for examination.

A supervisor or supervisors shall be appointed with the approval of the University and will provide direction and advice to the candidate.

Potential candidates should consult the University's Common Rules for Courses Leading to the Degree of Master by Research available on the Governance website.

Applicants into this course are required to provide: referees reports, research proposal outline (400-600 words), certified academic transcripts and other supporting documentation.

The Master by Research (LBA) is for students interested in researching topics relevant to the Faculty of Law, Business and Arts.

You must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree with second class Honours, or other qualifications and/or experience equivalent to this degree. If you are a domestic student applying for a Masters or PhD program and/or a Scholarship, you will need to attach: * A scholarship application form * Two referee reports * Certified photocopies or a printout of supporting documents including all units/subjects with grades for qualifying degrees * Research proposalIf you are a permanent resident, but not an Australian citizen, you are required to supply a certified copy of the relevant pages of your passport as proof of residency status.If you are an international student, please contact the International Office to enquire about additional requirements for applications.
