The Master's in Management is a consecutive business science programme which addresses applicants holding an undergraduate degree in a business-related field of study. The programme starts each year in September. The language of instruction is English.
The Master's in Management programme offers you unique opportunities to develop expertise in all key areas of business administration and to gain international and practical experience.

You can expect a programme which offers:
  • concentrations in: Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Marketing & Sales, Strategy, and Supply Chain Management
  • an integrated study abroad time
  • an integrated internship
  • the option to acquire an additional Master's degree from selected partner universities
  • an international and personal atmosphere hardly found elsewhere

The WHU culture is founded on team leadership, partnership, and continuous innovation. We believe that by creating both a challenging and supporting environment, we give our students the space to develop their own potential whilst providing them with the tools to become successful leaders. This philosophy is embraced and enhanced in the Master's in Management programme.

Educational organisation

The Master's in Management programme is offered in two tracks: A 90 ECTS credit track (17-month programme) and a 120 ECTS credit track (21-month programme). The 120 credit track includes a semester abroad at one of WHU's partner universities.

Core and Concentration Modules
The Master's in Management starts in September each year with two study sections on the WHU campus in Vallendar. You are required to complete the core module as well as additional nine electives across the following six concentrations:
  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation
  • Marketing & Sales
  • Strategy
  • Supply Chain Management

General Studies & Capstone Module
Three credits of the programme are dedicated to the general studies module. This module covers topics concerning sustainability in all its facets. Together with the capstone module, it provides the opportunity to integrate acquired knowledge.
The international capstone module (only in the 90 credit track) consists of customised lectures on chosen topics as well as company visits. It includes a trip to one of the business metropolises in America, Asia, or Europe. In the national capstone module for students in the 120 credit track, students will participate in several workshops together with company representatives to work on problem solutions for real-life cases concerning sustainability.

Internship
Practical relevance and exposure to the real business world are key strengths of the Master's in Management programme. Students are required to complete a minimum six-week internship, allowing them to apply and extend the knowledge acquired during their studies.

Study Abroad
As international exposure is an important element of integrated management training at WHU, students in the 120 credit track will spend one semester abroad at one of WHU's about 200 partner universities worldwide. During this study abroad, students are enrolled in the Master's or MBA programme of the chosen partner university.

Master's Thesis
The Master's thesis concludes the studies, providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate and apply the theory and knowledge they have acquired. Throughout the thesis, students will be supervised by a WHU faculty member. Students may also write their thesis in collaboration with a company.

Double Degree Option
A significant number of our students will choose WHU's double degree option. They will spend two semesters abroad at selected partner universities and earn a full second degree in addition to the MSc degree from WHU.

Its purpose is to help young qualified applicants from foreign countries to gain more courage, self-confidence, and strength by providing them with financial aid and interpersonal support. The scholarship covers 50% of WHU's tuition fee and is offered to students who will not be able to finance their studies on their own. In order to apply, students need to hand in a letter of motivation. Of advantage are documents indicating the need for financial support as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty member of the former university.

The In Praxi - Women in Business Scholarship
This scholarship seeks to help particularly qualified women pursue their studies at WHU. The scholarship covers 50% of WHU's tuition fees and is offered to students who will not be able to finance their studies on their own.

WHU Brain Capital
A further possibility for students to finance their studies at WHU is the Brain Capital Tuition Financing Concept. Students participating in this model do not pay any tuition fees while studying at WHU. However, they commit themselves to make income-dependent payments upon completion of their studies. The total amount of payments is linked to the income earned. To learn more about this concept, please refer to http://www.whubraincapital.de/en/.
