Globalization of recent years facilitates both competition and co-operation among economic entities and activities. As a consequence, people must acquire not only communication skills but also theory in economics and management to accommodate global developments. The Graduate School of Economics launches a new program in English for post graduates to learn economic and management theories of the global economy.
The feature of this program is to enhance understanding the globalization of economies and management. The aim of this program is to educate international human resources and to cultivate the ability to work for international corporations. Our graduates are prepared for career positions in government, international organizations, research institutes, and excellent business enterprises. This program provides well-organized basic courses and many applied study courses that deal with a great variety of topics on modern economic and business problems.

In their first year, students are given thorough grounding in the economic theories and management theories, such as "Price Theory and Applications," "Income Theory and Applications," "Introduction to Econometrics," "Introduction to Global Management," "Introduction to Financial Reporting" and so on. Students are able to gain a high-level of academic knowledge that is competent with the international criteria. Although the contents taught in the basic courses are standard subjects, those qualities that are emphasized by the class instructors are all active researchers who have reputable publication records in their own fields. In the second year related and applied subjects are provided. These include "international law," "Developmental Economics," and others, which are in principle subsequent to the courses in the first year. One of our focuses is emphases on Japanese economy and business. The unique Japanese system is discussed from various perspectives to draw insightful lessons from Japan’s experiences, both successes and failures. Students also must attend seminars to prepare their master thesis.
To hard contact to the real business society, students are encouraged to participate in joint seminar sessions with successful business practitioners experienced in various functions of companies. We provide access to worldwide leading business companies by taking advantage of our location Nagoya University within the largest manufacturing center of Japan.
Students who want to start their career in Japan or at Japanese companies can take classes taught in Japanese. These Japanese classes will give students good opportunity to learn Japanese management system and support for their job hunting in Japan.
