The Master of Advanced Journalism equips students with the skills, profound knowledge and adaptive capabilities to construct a career in today's rapidly shifting and often highly disrupted media landscape. Students gain hands-on knowledge in reporting, editing and related design and production skills in an extensive array of text, visual and audio mediums. They have the possibility to use, experience and think about emerging areas of journalistic practice, including drones, virtual reality and also computer-assisted reporting, and also assist leading professionals in investigative, sports and entrepreneurial journalism. The overarching aim is to cultivate agility and innovation in the local, regional and world wide media landscape. This course is a part of an articulated program of study and is suitable for anyone considering learning how to fully exploit the strength of journalism, from existing networking professionals and journalism graduates needing to upgrade skills or try new matters into people considering realising the full potential of electronic disruption.

  • UTS recognised bachelor degree, or equivalent or higher qualification, or filed additional evidence of qualifications which demonstrates possibility to pursue graduate studies. For applicants with a bachelor's degree: that the degree has to take the area of education, direction and commerce, society and culture or creative arts
  • When the degree is not in those disciplines, applicants also have to have a minimum of 2 years' related professional job experience. Applicants must answer the occupation question while inside the UAC application as job experience is evaluated according to the answer provided. For applicants with a master, graduate diploma or graduate certification: that the degree could be in any area of study. All applicants, except UTS undergraduate journalism graduates, need to compose your own statement that summarizes their attention in the course also demonstrates an comprehension of the challenges and opportunities facing the media industry & a CV a typical instance of their professional work.
