This MSc programme aims to equip graduates who have had little exposure to clinical and health psychology in their first degree, with the knowledge and skills required to obtain employment, or to be accepted on to a vocational training course, in these sectors. For example, the programme will provide a sound basis for graduates who want to apply for an assistant psychologist post, or for those who have the relevant work experience to apply for further training, but who need to enhance their academic and research skills. This might include those wishing to undertake vocational training, eg doctoral training in Clinical Psychology, and Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programmes. Psychology graduates who are keen to pursue a research career in the clinical aspects of psychology, including clinically-oriented PhDs, will also benefit from this MSc. The programme is also designed for intercalating MBBS students.
