GIM is designed to transform students into professionals who are needed in cutting-edge international companies. Although there are some other innovation management masters programmes in the world, they tend to be offered in technical and engineering fields. The uniqueness of the GIM stems from the fact that it is built on business sciences.

The GIM programme commenced in 2006 and it has become an established masters programme that attracts well over 200 student applications per year for 25 study places. With this two-year masters degree programme we attract graduate students who hold a bachelor's degree and the burning desire to use their capabilities and transform themselves.

To achieve our aim we employ research active academics to work in an stimulating study environment containing state-of-the-art facilities. The curriculum combines studies in International Business, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in order to facilitate personal development. Master's degree programme in Global Innovation Management is a two-year programme which combines studies in International Business, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management and results in Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration.

Highly developed economies depend heavily on companies which take innovative products, services and novel business concepts to the world markets. To accomplish that they need people with generalist understanding of today's complex interactions in a globalising world who are able to be entrepreneurial in a variety of contexts in order to identify opportunities. Also, companies need people who are able to innovate by evaluating found or made opportunities and who are able to commercialise them internationally.

This is the background of the Master's Degree Programme in Global Innovation Management. We strive to develop talent which will be capable to contribute to innovative companies' international expansion and lead their development.

How to innovate a business concept? What determines success in new product and service development? What factors need to be considered in commercialisation? Which decisions need to be taken to expand internationally? Our students are confronted with these and similar questions on an ongoing basis. They learn to develop their individual mental models and mindsets in order to find their own innovative solution approaches for answering them. In our experience that is what innovation-driven firms need.

The extent of the programme is 120 ECTS credits and is designed to be completed in two years. In addition to major and minor studies, students must take language studies and will need to complete methodology courses. Students should note that this is a full-time programme and their physical presence will be required for most courses. Besides courses focusing on international business, entrepreneurship and innovation management, students take elective courses. Some students will be admitted under the condition that they complete supplementary courses (see: admission criteria).
