Description

The Health Education program is designed to prepare students in conducting health education and health promotion activities in a non-classroom setting. The program objectives are to facilitate the development of professional skills in program planning, implementation and evaluation as well as offer a broad course work curriculum in personal and community health. The Health Education program prepares students for careers in public or private health agencies, local and state health departments, nonprofit organizations and in private business. Upon graduation, students are encouraged to take the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination. Majoring in Health Education is an excellent foundation for students to apply to various graduate and professional programs, which may include: medical school, physician’s assistant school, chiropractor school, physical therapy school, health administration and counseling.
