Description

This department aims to give students the ability to create designs where the physical spaces provided, users can be comfortably, aesthetically and functionally accommodated. Students are taught how the physical and psychological quality of spaces can be improved.

Education in interior architecture also aims to achieve the following: to develop creative thinking capacities of the students, to be able to express these easily on paper by drawings, to be able to bring together economic, technical, visual, and functional factors in designs having different scales, and finally, to be able to produce and manipulate high quality computer aided designs.

Educational program enables students to solve technical details while achieving the most rational use of interior spaces. Studio work, devoted to project design, forms the core of this education and is supported by lectures such as history of art and architecture, construction technology and engineering. Students are supported by visual materials in lectures and site visits in order to give them a better grasp of contemporary building materials, building techniques, examples, etc.

Graduates will earn the title of “interior architect” at the end of four years and the education is in English in this department as it is in all departments. Through the interior architecture education, emphasis is also given to computer-aided design and thus, the students are prepared to real-life experience after their graduation.

  • Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.
  • Certificate of Yasar University Foreign Language Achievement Test (FLAT) or Paper Based TOEFL (PBT) score of 550, or Computer Based TOEFL (CBT) score of 213 or Internet Based TOEFL (IBT) score of 79, or equivalent. (Applicants, who have not achieved the minimum required score from a recognized English Proficiency Examination, must enroll for a one-year intensive English Language Preparatory Programme at Yasar University English Preparatory School.)

Scholarships

International Student Scholarship:

Yasar University offers an annual scholarship of 1500 USD to all full-time international undergraduate students, who been accepted and registered for classes at the university. Including the scholarship, the tuition fee becomes 7500USD. The continuation of this scholarship in each following academic year is dependent on the student achieving a minimum GPA score of 2.50/4. The scholarship applies only to annual tuition fees and is renewable as long as the student maintains academic success.

Academic Achievement Scholarship:

Students enroled at Yasar University are eligible for scholarships based on their academic performance. If a students grade point average at Yasar University is between 3.25 and 3.49 (out of 4.00), that student will receive a 50% academic scholarship the following academic year. If a students grade point average is between 3.50 and 4.00, that student will receive a 100% academic scholarship the following academic year. The Academic Achievement Scholarship continues as long as the students grades are maintained.
