Management (Year 3 Direct Entry Only)

Description

This programme focuses on the interrelationship between strategic management, human resource management and operational management, including performance, service quality and supply chain management and logistics.

With a strong focus on leadership, the management training you will receive provides a solid foundation in, and understanding of, the role of corporate social responsibility within modern management policy and practice.

Guest speakers from a variety of organisations, including successful entrepeneurs from private and social enterprises, are regularly invited to speak to students as part of modules' delivery.

In Year 3 there is an opportunity for an overseas exchange with a partner institution over one trimester.

Graduates can enter a wide range of roles from operational and line management positions in large and small organisations in private/commercial as well as public service and non-profit/voluntary services. Some graduates have gone on to start up their own business.

Course Content

Year 1 and 2: HND in a relevant subject area at a recognised UK or overseas institution.

Year 3: Provides a comprehensive knowledge of skills and functions required to manage and lead. There is also the opportunity to study at an overseas university for one semester.

Year 4: Honours dissertation in your specialised chosen area combined with a mixture of modules such as Innovation and Change Management through to Managing Sustainable Business Excellence.

Exchange: The programme offers an overseas exchange opportunity for one semester at a partner university.

Assessment: Assessment is based on a combination of coursework and examinations.
