Description

It is an innovative, one-year course leading to a degree, aimed at those wishing to pursue a career in business and management but who may not necessarily have studied the subject previously. Normally we would expect you to complete this course as a preparation for Masters level. After completing this course, you wil be critically informed, adaptable and resourceful, with the capability to make an effective contribution to business.

Course Structure

This dynamic and intensive course requires total commitment and a high level of motivation. The teaching team works closely with you to ensure that each student is able to achieve their maximum potential.

The course has four core units and two optional units which have been designed to refine and extend your existing knowledge and skills base through a number of carefully chosen subject areas. Units are taught through a variety of means including lectures, seminars, online delivery and project work. As part of the course, you will need to undertake a significant amount of personal research and writing. All units are designed to concentrate on the building of interpersonal skills and on the acquisition of effective study techniques.

The course is linked with the BA (Hons) Business and Management Top-Up. The common units provide opportunities for international students to gain a wider cultural experience by sharing business and management skills. Integration into the Business School and the life of the University is encouraged at all levels.

The course starts in mid-September each year and final completion is in June the following year. Results are confirmed in time for successful candidates to progress directly to a Masters programme of study.
