Description

This programme is suitable for individuals who are working in a range of organisations and wish to gain an honours degree but need to remain in employment. It is also suitable for individuals who are seeking to upgrade their existing qualifications, or reshape their career. Studying with the business school provides opportunities to develop links with a range of organisations that can lead to other opportunities.

The programme is designed to fulfil the needs of practitioners and employers in a fast changing economic environment. Students will also learn how to develop and manage businesses, taking into account emerging business issues, such as sustainability, and technological innovation. The vocational elements are built into the curriculum to meet the needs from employers. Teaching and learning techniques encourage the students to link theories with practices.

The programme is delivered as ‘Supported Open Learning’ (SOL) with classes on campus every third Saturday. This combination of online learning and face-to-face sessions allows greater flexibility to fit the studying around work commitments. The classroom sessions are an important for the cohesive benefits of regularly meting as a group.

The aims of this programme are:

  • To equip students with the knowledge of business management and an understanding of the changing external environment in which business operates.
  • To prepare students for careers in business development and management by equipping them with a systematic, broad and integrated understanding of key aspects of business.
  • To develop analytical and problem solving skills, as well as creativity.

Applicants should have:

240 UCAS points or equivalent

FROM at least two A-levels (Points from AS-levels or ASVCEs are also taken into account.)

- Applicants with previous or equivalent qualification may be granted exemptions subject to APEL.
