Description

Many graduates go on to take the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (PEAT1), which is the next stage for those who wish to qualify as a solicitor. The main aim of the programme, which is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland, is to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the legal system and law of Scotland.

In Year 1 and 2 you will develop your knowledge and expertise through the study of Legal Systems and Study, Succession and Family Law, and Commercial Law. In Year 3 and 4 you will develop your areas of expertise through the choice of more specialist law modules and the completion of an Honours dissertation in your chosen area.

With a small first year intake you will benefit from small classes and excellent access to staff within a supportive learning environment.

A two-year accelerated 'fast-track' LLB is available to those who already hold an Honours degree in another discipline. Advanced entry to a bespoke 'direct entry' LLB at Level 2 may be possible for those holding an HND in Legal Services.

An LLB is a highly sought after degree and our graduates have found employment in some of Scotland's top law firms, the public sector and as in-house legal counsel. The degree would also be sutiable for employment with banks, building societies, insurance companies, accountants, universities, the civil service, local government, health authorities, voluntary organisations, the police and retailers.
