The aim of the master's programme in German is to improve your skills and increase your knowledge in German studies in general, and in your area of specialisation (linguistics or literary studies) in particular.
The Master??s programme consists of four courses, each equivalent to 15 ECTS credits, and a Master??s thesis of 60 ECTS credits (70-110 pages). You will be expected to fulfil the programme??s course requirements in the first year and complete the thesis in the second. The graduate programme is designed to focus on selected topics in German language linguistics and literature and to provide an introduction to academic procedures, theories and methods through work on a thesis on either linguistics or literature. Its courses are designed to facilitate the development of language proficiency.

A first degree (bachelor's degree) of three or four years' duration from an approved institution of higher education, as well as proficiency in the German and English languages. Your bachelor's degree must have a specialisation in German. Such a specialisation should correspond to at least three semesters of full-time study and include courses in the areas of linguistics and literature.
