Choreography (English)

Focus on the teaching of concepts, theories and principles in support of creative processes.

In September the Dance Academy (Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts Tilburg) will start with a two-year, part-time English HBO Master in Choreography. The course is designed to accommodate the needs of choreographers working in amateur, educational and professional fields; self-employed, freelance, or as employees of a professional company, academy, agency, institution or university. The programme focuses on the teaching of concepts, theories and principles in support of creative processes and offers a unique opportunity to extend creative, conceptual and intellectual skills, knowledge and attitudes. The educational content is provided in 6 blocks of 2 weeks each, timetabled in Tilburg. Students will engage in choreographic workshops, lectures, seminars and debates to challenge, provoke and question both personal and shared positions. After each block, students return to their professional contexts to test and apply the newly-gained knowledge through independent study and distance learning.

If you would like to study at Fontys as an exchange student and if you are currently enrolled in a course programme at a European university, you may apply for an Erasmus grant. You will only be eligible for a grant if your university has signed an Erasmus bilateral agreement with Fontys.
