Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy

The department combines general academic research with specialized professional education in environmental sciences and policy. The program focuses on integrating theory and practice and developing innovative solutions for environmental and environment-related problems.

This Erasmus + (formerly Erasmus Mundus) program prepares students to identify and implement solutions for complex environmental challenges, especially in an international context.

Students also develop research, communication, and other professional skills to advance their career objectives. the program is operated by CEU, Lund university (Sweden), the university of Manchester (UK), the university of the Aegean (Greece), the university of Saskatchewan (Canada), and the Monterey institute for international Studies (USA).

Graduates are awarded MSc degrees by CEU, Lund university, and the university of Manchester.

  • CEU Master’s Degree Tuition Scholarships cover from 50 to 100 percent of tuition expenses up to € 16,000 per year.
  • CEU Housing Awards provide accommodation in CEU’s Residence Center for the duration of the academic year.
  • CEU Master’s Degree Stipend Awards provide full or partial stipends to assist with the cost of living expenses in Budapest during the academic year, up to € 3,200 per year. Recipients of any of the above three awards will also receive health insurance coverage for the duration of their studies.
  • CEU Alumni Scholarships funded by alumni, are awarded to master’s degree students with financial need who have a proven record of leadership in extracurricular activities, community service, and civic engagement.
  • Named Scholarships provide additional awards to master’s students enrolled in specific programs at CEU.
  • CEU Doctoral Fellowships cover full tuition and health insurance, and provide a generous stipend for housing and living expenses.
  • External Scholarships administered through CEU include Erasmus Mundus scholarship, Erasmus research grants, and other private and public fellowships and scholarships.
