Join the Master’s degree programme in IT and Business Process Management (BPM) at the University of Liechtenstein!

Enrolling in our programme means studying at one of the most active BPM research groups in Europe. We offer

  • a strong focus on process management,
  • an interdisciplinary mix of IT-related and business-related topics,
  • a tight integration between theory and practice,
  • small study groups, and
  • an excellent student-faculty ratio.

After gaining their Master of Science in IT and Business Process Management (MSc IT and BPM) our students have excellent career opportunities. Typically, they start working for international IT & management consultancies or industry and service companies (e.g., in financial services, telecommunications, logistics, manufacturing, or public administration).

The Master’s degree programme is arranged in a modular structure and characterized by both academic rigor and practical relevance. The programme comprises four semesters of full-time study which corresponds to 120 ECTS credits ( European Credit Transfer System ).

Courses take place on Thursdays and Fridays. Only non-periodic lectures and guest lectures are on Saturdays. Students are thus supported in either continuing your employment or entering challenging internships associated with the programme.

Slight changes to the curriculum might be implemented until spring 2015

The major in Business Process Management covers the following topics:

  • Process Analysis (e.g., process modelling, process monitoring, process analysis)
  • Process Implementation (e.g., workflow management, process-aware information systems)
  • Process Management (e.g., strategic alignment, governance)

The major in Data Science covers the following topics:

  • Business Intelligence (Data Warehousing, Online Analytical Processing)
  • Big Data (Technologies and Architectures)
  • Business Analytics (Predictive Analytics, Text Mining, Social Network Analytics)

Completion of a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science as well as both Natural or Engineering Sciences with at least 180 ECTS credits.Performance above average in your former study programme. Applicants are evaluated based on their individual profile.English language proficiency on level C1, provided that English is not the native language.Basic knowledge in research methods.

The Institute of Information Systems has developed funding schemes to support highly motivated students during their stay in Liechtenstein and further develop their profiles by gaining practical experience and / or being involved in research activities of the institute.

Student Research Fellowship

The Hilti Chair of Business Process Management offers highly motivated full-time degree and Erasmus students the opportunity to get involved in the department's research activities alongside their studies. Full-time students are employed as research assistants in parallel to attending the master’s programme.

Hilti-Fellowship Programme

This Hilti-sponsored fellowship offers committed master students the opportunity to be part of an international project team for a semester, and take one or more courses in the Master’s programme in Information Systems.
