The Master’s Degree in Molecular Biomedicine of the UAM seeks to provide advanced, multidisciplinary and integrated training in the field of Molecular Biology of Health and Illness aimed mainly at research into the molecular basis of human pathology, as well as the discovery and development of new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures based on knowledge about Molecular Biosciences. In summary, this Master’s Degree seeks to provide professionals with cellular and molecular training which will allow them to work in the both in basic research and clinical research and to be able to promote applied and “translational” research.

Molecular Biomedicine is a scientific area in continual expansion and with an increasing social impact. The objective of this Master is to cover a key space in the healthcare and research (R+D+i) systems: to train professionals with a solid background in molecular and cellular biomedicine, who can work at the frontier between basic and clinical research, and that are capable of propulsing high quality translational investigation in Hospitals, Universities and Biomedical Research Centres, applicable to the improvement in Healthcare.

The Master’s Degree in Molecular Biomedicine comprises 6 specialized fields that focus on specific illnesses (cancer, immune and inflammatory diseases, neurological illnesses, genetically based metabolic illnesses, endocrine diseases and cardiovascular disease). The teaching programme will provide up-to-date knowledge of the cellular and molecular basis and the physiopathology of the aforementioned diseases, as well as advanced experimental training in the laboratory (see "TFM course" below) which includes some of the main research techniques in Molecular Biomedicine.

Requirements

Official university qualification such as an undergraduate degree, bachelor’s degree or other equivalent, in one of the following Experimental or Health Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicine, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Veterinary, or other similar degrees.
An official certificate of level of English (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, OAL-UAM, Linguistic Services Office from your home university etc.) with at least a B2 (or equivalent) level. This doesn't apply for students coming from english-speaking countries/universities/schools.

FOREIGN STUDENTS ONLY: when their average grade point is not in a 1-to-10 scale, applicants must also submit the ANECA's certificate of average grade equivalence for studies undertaken in foreign countries (see here). Please note that this certificate can take up to 2 months to be delivered, so applicants should request it with enough time in advance.
