The Financial Management specialization of the Master’s programme in Business Administration at VU University Amsterdam will give you the tools and competencies you need for managing, controlling and financing business activities. As a student in the Master’s specialization in Financial Management you will study corporate finance, accounting and financial markets (the three-pillar concept) in-depth. Career prospects

Once you have passed all the components of the Master’s programme, you will be awarded the title of Master of Science in Business Administration. This degree is recognized internationally.

The Financial Management specialization typically prepares students for a career in one of the many and varied professions that fall under the category of financial management. In the corporate sector you might become a treasurer, risk manager, controller or financial manager at a large multi-national corporation or in a small to medium-sized enterprise.

The financial sector offers opportunities for graduates to become bankers, analysts, portfolio managers, accounting experts, insurance experts, or to enter into consultancy at a major national bank, with insurance companies, at major accounting firms, pension funds etc. There are also career opportunities in the non-profit sector: national government agencies, international agencies, supervisory bodies and others all need MBAs who are specialized in financial management.

There are strict admission criteria. These are set by the Admissions Board, which also decides on individual applications. The requirements are split up into Masters specialization specific requirements and general requirements.
