The Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) is a three-year undergraduate degree that gives you the knowledge and practical skills you need to start your journey towards a career in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture or interior architecture.

Study alongside Building Science students in the first year, giving you a basic understanding of the principles and theory behind the built environment.

Gain a solid grounding in a range of subjects from design, technologies, architectural history, to environmental science, theory and urban design.

The insights you gain will help you make an informed choice when it’s time to pick your major at the end of the year. You can choose between Architecture, Architecture History and Theory, Interior Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

Complete eight core courses at 100 level (in first year):

Complete six courses at 200 level (in second year):

Requirements

  • Achievement of the International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • Submit your completed application to be assessed for New Zealand entrance equivalency
  • IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5
  • TOEFL: minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test)
  • Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 58 (with a 'Communicative score' of not less than 50)
  • EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,4,3
